Parents sell their home to travel the world with their five sons … story in the DAILY MAIL
Family of five give up their perfect life to travel round the world
To the casual outsider they have the perfect lives.
Matthew and Faye Gooding live with their five children in a four bedroom detached house in a sought after village outside historic Lincoln, enjoy holidays every year and run their own mortgage broking business.
Indeed their lives are so perfect, that over 30,000 followers regularly go on Instagram where Faye posts beautiful of their fabulous life.
But beneath the smiles lay a feeling that all was not quite right in their perfect world.
And now the couple have decided to say give up all their possessions – to travel round the world.
Their house, with its stunning kitchen, has already been sold. Most of their belongings have gone too. Shortly their car will be gone – until they only have one backpack each.
The couple made their decision to travel after having their surprise twin sons.
Faye says: ‘I found myself cleaning the house all day. The older ones were at school and I thought I hardly see them. It just felt as if our lives revolved around material things – Matt and I working to keep ourselves in our perfect world.’
The older children did not return to school in September in preparation for they big trip. They plan to stay in hotels and Airbnbs for a week or two at a time – with the older children plotting where they will go. Matthew and Faye have employed extra staff to continue their business which they intend to oversee from their travels.
This Christmas was their last in the UK for at least the next two years.
I placed The Gooding’s story in the Daily Mail. Matthew said: ‘We knew our story was in the paper when our Instagram follower account started going crazy!’
