Jane Healy tells the story of how she formulated SeaCreme on Mirror Online…
After suffering 75% burns as a child, Jane Healy spent much of her adult life trying to find a soothing cream.
The mum underwent hundreds of cosmetic surgery operations and was left with extensive scarring on her body, neck and face.
But throughout all the procedures, the one thing that always soothed her was the sea.
As she grew up Jane still found the sea helped with her dry scarred skin.
It set her thinking about how useful it would be if she could harness the power of the sea in a pot of cream.
Hours of research, testing ingredients and trying out different combinations on herself has led to Jane producing her own cream – SeaCreme.
Unsurprisingly, given her love of the sea, the deeply hydrating cream has been formulated using sea salt and sea minerals found in the sea.
Jane uses it all the time – and she has now started selling it to help others. Over the next few months it is due to be sold in department stores throughout the UK.
She says: “People certainly don’t have to have gone through such a nightmare as me. People who try it tell me they find it an amazing moisturiser with healing qualities. A lot of people use the cream to keep wrinkles at bay too.”
Jane has an amazing story to tell. She was just nine years old when a camping trip with her brother and some friends turned into a nightmare. Some methylated spirits dripped onto her clothing and when a camp fire was lit to heat up some beans, she went up in flames.
Incredibly she survived and has gone on to marry and have daughter Laura – as well as run a business selling make up.
Jane’s inspirational story has appeared in The Sun and Take a Break magazine. She has also appeared on ITV This Morning.
