Carly Akers tells how she was jilted on her wedding day in CLOSER MAG 

After appearing over three pages of Take a Break mag I was delighted to gain further coverage for Carly with Closer mag!

Carly’s story appeared over a page in the glossy weekly magazine in their “It happened to me” slot.

When her boyfriend of eight years proposed to her in February 2015 Carly was thrilled especially as the couple have two daughters together.

Her brother and his fiancee were also planning to tie the knot so a double wedding date was set.

A week before Carly went on a hen do to Mallorca while her boyfriend went with his pals on a stag do to Bournemouth.

But when she got back a friend met Carly at the airport and said there were rumours her boyfriend had cheated on his stag.

Carly was horrified when after confronting him, he said it was true.

Carly was devastated but thought it was probably a one off fling during a stag do. She couldn’t believe after all these years and two kids together he would just throw it all away. She wasn’t prepared to do that.

She carried on preparing for their wedding day convinced he was just suffering a bad dose of wedding nerves.

Usually her boyfriend would calm down after a row and come round.

But on the day he didn’t turn up and when she rang he said he didn’t want to get wed. Carly was left to explain the nightmare to guests.

She couldn’t let her daughters down so Carly walked up the aisle anyway wearing one of her bridesmaid’s dresses. She even ate the food at the reception and went on the honeymoon with a friend.

Carly has since learnt her boyfriend believed she’d cheated on him but says she never has. Sadly thought what should have been the best day of her life turned out to be the worst.
