Power of Healing: Story in the DAILY MAIL
Vet ‘astounded’ after finding advanced bone cancer disappears in pet dog.
Owners decided against chemo and amputation – deciding to give Ella the Golden Retriever a wonderful life before her death
She dined on steak, pork loin and chicken breast. Ella’s owner used healing
Incredibly ten months later X rays found the cancer has gone
When their beloved Golden Retriever, aged five, was diagnosed with bone cancer, her owners were devastated.
Avril, Priestley,73, and her husband, Andy, 63, a former financial director, were told Ella, who had started to limp, could die within four weeks. The pair got a second opinion from a different vets but that was the same: Ella needed an urgent amputation and chemo to survive. Even then there was no guarantee she would survive longer than two years.
The couple made the difficult decision to allow Ella to simply enjoy the life she had left. They allowed her to dine on steak, pork loin and breast of chicken. For the first time ever she was allowed to sleep on their bed at night. Meanwhile, as well as giving Ella small doses of painkillers, Avril carried out regular healing on their beloved dog’s leg in the hope that might help.
A few months later the couple moved to Exeter. They were worried about the move but Ella seemed fine – incredibly as well as outliving her four week death prognosis, she was still enjoying her walks. In fact she seemed better than ever.
The pair who have five children and are grandparents wondered if Ella’s new found bounce was a brief renaissance before she began the final decline into her death. Worried about what lay in store, they decided to take her to the new vet there to discuss the future.
It was then after doing further tests, the vet, who had obtained the former X rays from the old veterinary surgery, said they couldn’t find any sign of the cancer. Everyone was amazed. They have no idea how it has happened but the couple believe it was the hands of Avril, a retired healer, which caused the cancer to be cured. She regularly laid her hands on Ella’s poorly leg and today Ella is cancer free!
They are all absolutely delighted and everyone has hailed Ella a little miracle!
