Following on from her stories in THE SUN, DAILY EXPRESS, DAILY MAIL – and on ITV THIS MORNING – Sharon Minkin appears on the cover and over two pages of Woman magazine.
Sharon caused a storm last month when she told how she is paid a benefits package worth the equivalent of a £70,000 salary – and is therefore unable to afford to take a job.
Thousands of people vented their feelings on various websites up and down the country after Sharon, a divorcee, exposed the system.
But as Sharon points out it is not that she refuses to get a job – she would love to go back to work – but that if she accepted the jobs she’s been offered she would’t be able to afford the roof over her head or to put food on the table for her three children.
Featureworld hopes to be able to do an update on this story later in the year. Meanwhile, Sharon – who until giving up work to care for her children, earned £120,000 as an accountant in the City – is busy writing a novel. Watch this space!
