Surrogacy gone wrong
Story in The Sun newspaper…

The surrogate loved her baby girl…
Surrogate mum launches bid to get biological baby daughter back after changing her mind over giving her away.
But social services claim neither she nor the biological dad should have the baby.
The baby has since been adopted by strangers.
A surrogate mum who had a baby for another couple has told how the arrangement ended in disaster – after her baby ended up being adopted by complete strangers.
The surrogate, 28, who already has a daughter, offered to become a surrogate for the couple in their 40s after answering an online ad. She wanted an infertile couple to have the joy of having a child. The surrogate inseminated herself with the man’s sperm and was delighted when she became pregnant.
However, after giving birth to a little girl and handing her over, she became concerned about how her baby’s new parents treated her. And full of regret about giving birth to her own child and then giving her away, she launched a bid for custody.
Social Services were called in to do reports – and much to the surrogate’s shock and distress, decided that the surrogate was right to be concerned and the parents should not keep the baby. Shockingly it transpired they’d lied to the surrogate and three kids had been removed from them in the past.
But worse was to come.
When the surrogate said she wanted her baby back, Social Services said they did not believe she was not a suitable mother either.
Bizarrely they claimed this was because they believed if the baby came home it was distressing to the daughter she already had. For that reason, the welfare of the daughter the surrogate already has was of concern and they decided the baby should not remain with her.
She was devastated and fought for her daughter she’d given birth to as a surrogate. But the courts upheld the social worker’s decision and her daughter has now been adopted by an entirely different family.
The surrogate, who can’t be named for legal reasons, wanted her harrowing story published to serve as a warning to others considering surrogacy.
And her story about surrogacy gone wrong was printed in The Sun newspaper.
